All the Active Algebra activities can be used either by individual pupils, small groups or with the whole class using a projector or an interactive whiteboard.

All of the Active Algebra activities are available on CD (currently only a PC version is available):

Primary schools CD and site licence
£40.00 (click to buy)
Secondary schools CD and site licence
 £50.00

A password can be purchased for the Active Algebra website:
Primary and Middle schools £20.00 (click to buy), Secondary schools £25.00.

Type your password in to the password box then click on the 'go' button or press <enter>. This will remove the password box and stop the 'password' message from appearing, the activities can then be used online by pupils and teachers in school and at home.
The cost of the password is an annual subscription.

How to use the activities ....
Most of the activities involve using sliders to input variables. Try the example on the right.

Results can be saved in a table by clicking on the 'record results' button.

Several applications of algebra involving finding a formula which generates the general term of a sequence. These activities enable pupils to justify their formulae from physical patterns thus allowing them to 'prove' their solutions. Elephant Wallpaper is all about repeating patterns.
